CHELSEA look to have offloaded Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid with an Italian journalist claiming a deal is done. Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been keen to offload Morata in order to bring in AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain. Sarri has been left frustrated at a lack of goals from Morata and Olivier Giroud this term with his side fourth in the Premier League table. But Gazetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira claims a deal for Higuain, who is on loan from Juventus, now looks close with Morata on his way to Atletico. “It's confirmed! #AtleticoMadrid is closing Alvaro #Morata from #Chelsea.”, he tweeted . “Gonzalo #Higuain on loan from #ACMilan could replace the spanish striker. “Talks ongoing to finalize the deal. #CFC #transfers” The Serie A club splashed out €18m (£15.9m) to take the 31-year-old on a season-long loan from Juventus. A €36m (£31.9m) permanent option is built into the deal, which is causing problems. Chelsea will have to stump up a loan fee to take over Milan’s loan deal for Higuain. Juventus are also demanding a similar clause at the end of the season for him to complete a permanent switch. Milan are also looking to secure a replacement before ditching Higuain, who has scored eight goals in all competitions this season. Meanwhile, Starsport understands Chelsea expect to land Argentinian star Leandro Paredes in a deal which could hit £36m. The west London outfit have turned to Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Paredes after being told by Cagliari that £45m starlet Nicolo Barella is off the market. Paredes was next on Chelsea’s wish list and the Argentina international, 24, has now agreed terms on a four-and-a-half year deal worth £80,000-a-week.
