‘Woeful’: Chelsea fans rip into attacker Willian after Tottenham loss
Chelsea slipped to a crushing 3-1 away defeat against Tottenham on Saturday in the Premier League – and some supporters singled out attacker Willian for criticism after his performance.
The Blues were well off the pace at Wembley with Dele Alli and Harry Kane firing the hosts into a two-goal lead at half-time, before Heung-Min Son added a third shortly into the second period.
Substitute Olivier Giroud did net a late consolation,, but Maurizio Sarri’s side fell to their first loss of the season.
Chelsea struggled to create too many clear goalscoring opportunities and right-winger Willian was unable to add what would have been his fourth goal of the season.
The 30-year-old has featured in someway in every single Blues game this season and is competing with teammate Pedro for a starting position.
He’s been directly involved in eight goals across all so far this campaign, but can be guilty of being extremely inconsistent and quite wasteful on the ball.
A selection of Chelsea fans on social media ripped into the Brazilian for his efforts at the weekend, with one claiming he should be sent back to former club Shakthar Donetsk.
Here are some of the Chelsea fan tweets on Willian:
Willian might be one of the laziest players I’ve watched on the pitch. #CFC— Dalton (@daltonCFC_NOP) November 24, 2018
Willian too busy sulking and then doesn’t realise the ball is coming. Fml— Dan (@CHudsonOdoiCFC) November 24, 2018

Willian’s been playing football for about 10+ seasons and he still has 0 clue when to release the ball. One of our worst ever signings— ًًً (@_jamieCFC) November 24, 2018

Willian has been woeful, so has Alonso, Luiz also. If it wasn’t for Kepa this could be worse— Los Blues (@CFCLosBlues) November 24, 2018
Another useless game from Willian. But he hates Tottenham, so...— Alex Goldberg (@AlexGoldberg_) November 24, 2018
