Chelsea star linked with move to Serie A side

TORINO KEEN ON DEAL FOR DAVIDE ZAPPACOSTA

Torino are keen to re-sign Davide Zappacosta from Chelsea in January, according to a report from Tuttosport, as cited by Calciomercato.

The Blues signed Italy international Zappacosta from Torino in the summer transfer window of 2017, as Antonio Conte added his compatriot to his rank of wide defensive options.

However, the 26-year-old has struggled to truly impose himself on proceedings at Stamford Bridge, with the likes of Victor Moses and Cesar Azpilicueta often preferred to him on the right-hand side.

Zappacosta was linked with a move to Inter Milan during the summer but remained at Chelsea, as he looked to impress Maurizio Sarri following his appointment as the club’s new manager.

The wing-back has played in each of Chelsea’s three Europa League group stage games this season but has made only one appearance in the Premier League, which came in a brief cameo in the Blues’ 4-1 win against Cardiff City midway through September.

Zappacosta spent two years at Torino and could be tempted by the prospect of a return to the top-flight of Italian football.

SHOULD CHELSEA LET ZAPPACOSTA LEAVE?
